Dr. Claire Beaird earned her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the University of Pikeville, Kentucky College of Optometry after obtaining her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Louisiana Tech University. Throughout her academic pursuits, she was honored with the Pioneer International Senior Excellence Award, she amalgamated esteemed organizations such as the Beta Sigma Kappa National Honors Society, American Optometric Association, American Optometric Student Association, Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, and National Optometric Student Association, all while maintaining a place on the Dean’s List.
Beyond her academic and clinical accomplishments, Dr. Beaird is deeply engaged in her community and beyond. She has volunteered on impactful medical mission trips, conducted vital school vision screenings, and passionately educated young students about optics and vision. Her diverse interests, including travel, hiking, scuba diving, cooking, and Crossfit, reflect her vibrant and multifaceted personality.
Dr. Beaird’s comprehensive clinical experiences during her optometry externships have fortified her expertise across various specialties. Notably, she provided full scope medical-based eye care in diverse settings, showcasing her proficiency in managing ocular disease, specializing in contact lenses for conditions like Keratoconus, and excelling in both pediatric and adult primary care.
