1) Do I need to call to reschedule my appointment or will Louisiana Eye & Laser Center call me?

A) We are reaching out to each patient currently scheduled with a doctor. Depending on the type of appointment scheduled, telemedicine may be a great option; if not, then we will reschedule the appointment for a future date.

2) I need to order glasses. How can I do that?

A) Unfortunately, at this time our Optical Center is closed, and we do not have a projected reopening date.

3) I need to pick up my glasses. How can I do that?

A) If the glasses have been paid for in full, the call center can have someone inquire about the status. If the glasses are not paid for, we are not able to give any information and the order has been delayed until further notice.

4) How can I reorder my contacts?

A) If the patient has a current contact lens prescription, they CAN order contacts through the Louisiana Eye & Laser Center website and the contacts will be mailed directly to the patient.

5) I have an eye emergency. How do I receive help?

A) Call our office at 318-581-4634. A doctor will discuss your situation and determine if you need to be seen at our facility. As a medical facility, we are remaining open and following all CDC guidelines.

6) I have had a fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other COVID-19 symptoms, but I am having an eye emergency. Who do I call for help?

A) Please call 911 or your closest urgent care facility.

7) My child needs to be seen for an eye care emergency. Can my spouse and I come with them for their appointment?

A) At this time, we are limiting all patients to one person accompanying them.

8) What constitutes an eye emergency?

A) There are many answers to this question, however, any injury, sudden LOSS of vision, or sudden CHANGE in vision (usually with an underlying eye condition) generally constitute an emergency.

9) How does the Telemedicine service work, exactly?

A) You call and schedule a telemedicine appointment. One of our doctors will call you back on a private video-conferencing line.

10) How do I pay my Louisiana Eye & Laser Center bill?

A) Call the office and the call center will direct you to the billing team to take the payment, or follow the instructions listed on your statement.

11) What offices are still open and what are the hours?

A) Alexandria, Pineville, Leesville, Ville Platte, Natchitoches, and Monroe are still open on an as-needed basis for urgent medical and emergency visits. You must first call 318-487-2020 to schedule an appointment to be seen.
