Alexander Saunders, OD

Optometrist

Alex Saunders received his education and training at the University of Houston College of Optometry and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and completed an Ocular Disease Residency at Omni Eye Specialists in Denver.
Dr. Saunders is fluent in Spanish and has presented research papers at Grand Rounds Houston and the American Academy of Optometry. He has received several honors and awards, including the Brett G. Bence Clinical Student Travel Fellowship for exceptional clinical performance and leadership skills, the Optometry Premium Tuition Scholarship, and the Summer Research Fellowship.
Dr. Saunders has volunteered with Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and at the NRG stadium shelter in Houston, TX, following Hurricane Harvey, where he participated in vision screenings for underprivileged communities, schools, health fairs, and fundraisers. In his free time, he enjoys dancing, golfing, working out, and spending time with his dog, family, and friends.
