Dr. Nidhi Relhan Batra is an ophthalmologist who specializes in Vitreo-Retinal diseases. Dr. Batra joined Louisiana Eye and Laser Center (LELC) in July 2022. Dr. Batra is a graduate of Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh, India. She received her residency training in ophthalmology at Government Medical College and Hospital Chandigarh, India, and Tulane University, New Orleans. In addition, Dr. Batra completed a two-year Vitreo-Retinal surgical fellowship from LV Prasad Eye Institute Hyderabad, India, and a Medical Retina fellowship from Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami.
Before Joining LELC, Dr. Batra worked as an attending at Smt. Kanuri Santhamma Center for Vitreo-Retinal diseases at LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. She also worked as a researcher at the Ophthalmic Biophysics Center at the University of Miami, Florida.
Nidhi Batra is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in diagnosing and managing eye diseases, including uveitis, macular degeneration, retinal tears/detachment, diabetic retinopathy, and various other retinal disorders.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Dr. Batra is also an active researcher in the field of Ophthalmology. Her research areas include Endophthalmitis, Diabetic Retinopathy, and Uveitis. She has over 50 peer-reviewed publications with over one thousand six hundred citations. She has also co-authored a book titled “ Endophthalmitis in clinical practice”.
